TOPIC: The Wild Parrots of Long Island


This month’s meeting will feature a program about the feral parrot

populations found on the south shore of Long Island, in Brooklyn, and

elsewhere in the greater New York area that live here year-round, how

they got here 40 years ago, how to spot them, and the best places to

observe them.

Our guest speaker is a licensed NYS physical education teacher, a

professional kayak instructor/tour guide, and has given hundreds of

lectures on a variety of topics, including kayaking, history/

geography, wildlife, art, and Scrabble.
